Marcia Jordan

Marcia Futch Jordan, 85, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. She was born in Atlanta, GA on August 20, 1937, to the late Lacy Elbert (L.E.) Futch, Jr. and Mildred Wetherington Futch. She was a homemaker and a member of the Emmaus Community. Mrs. Jordan faithfully attended Hahira United Methodist Church and was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a member of the United Methodist Women for 68 years in both Hahira and Macon. She served on the South Georgia Regional Library Board.

Marcia was known to be a prayer warrior and prayed for everyone she knew and some people she didn’t know. Her friends and family knew that they could call her and count on her to pray when she heard of a need.

She was a wonderful cook. Her pecan pies, chocolate cake and banana pudding were legendary. At the Jordan Family reunions, the nieces and nephews would get their chocolate cake before their meal, in order to ensure that they could enjoy the chocolate decadence. Marcia taught the younger women in Hahira the importance of presence. She showed up for showers, funerals and special events even when she did not feel like going.

Marcia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, June and Hank O’Neal; granddaughter Shamekia Towns; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Brady E. Jordan and her beloved son, David Jordan.

Funeral services for Marcia will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Hahira Community Church. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira, GA from 5 to 7 PM.
