Manuel L. Bray, 78, of Pavo and formerly of Valdosta died Friday, November 10, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lake City, Fla. after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 18, 1928 in Bardstown, Kentucky to the late Clinton T. and Ollie Lee Perry Bray and had lived in this area for many years. Mr. Bray was a retired Technical Sergeant from the United States Air Force after twenty-one years of service and retired after twenty-two years of service with Valdosta State University as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of Grace Bible Church and active with the Gideons.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Fleming Bray of Pavo, two daughters and a son law, Linda and Jimmy Holloway of Moultrie and Wanda Hall of Pavo, six grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Edith Johnson and Helen B. Bray, one brother, Paul E. Bray all of Louisville, KY. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arnold Bray, Russell Bray and Albert Bray.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, November 14, 2006 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
