Manuel Kinsey, 89, of Echols County, died on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper, Florida following a period of declining health. He was born in Echols County on May 16, 1929 to the late Eugene and Vera Kinsey and has been a lifelong resident of Echols County. He worked on the family farm for most of his life and was a dedicated member of Wrights Chapel Methodist Church. Manuel was known for his humble, kind and compassionate spirit. Survivors include several nieces and nephews and their spouses; Paul and Pam Kinsey of Valdosta, Chris and Dan Bremer, Karen and Randy Hiers, Ronald and Lisa Kinsey all of Echols County, Tommy and Gail Prescott of Hobe Sound, Florida, Betty Jo Stephens of Echols County, and Kathy and Greg Ley of Quitman; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister-in-law, Paul Wesley, Sr. and Grace Kinsey, Hansell Kinsey, and Bobby Kinsey; his sister and brother-in-law, Maeda Pearl and Thomas Prescott.
Services for Manuel Kinsey will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Wrights Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. James Davis officiating. The burial will follow in the Wrights Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manuel Kinsey Memorial Fund Wrights Chapel, 1504 J. Frank Culpepper Road, Lake Park, Georgia 31636.
