Mandi Alisha Corbett

February 13, 1986 — June 15, 2010

Mandi Alisha Corbett, 24, of Lake Park died in an automobile accident on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in Lowndes County near Lake Park. She was born on February 13, 1986 in Valdosta to Mark and Brenda Corbett of Lake Park. Mandi was a Hope Scholar, cheerleader and member of the softball, track and golf teams and graduated as an honor student from Echols County High School. She graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in 2008. She was chosen as Outstanding Student Teacher (Fall 2008) and was currently working on her Master's Degree in Education. She was employed by the Lowndes County Board of Education and had just finished her first year teaching 9th grade English at Lowndes High School. Her hobbies included photography, writing poetry and reading. Mandi was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church in Echols County.

Mandi is survived by her parents, Mark and Brenda Corbett; sisters, Kelley Corbett Griffin, Ashli Corbett, brother, Mark Anthony (Mac) Corbett; niece, Kenna Griffin; grandparents, Norman & Mamie Pipkins, Louis & Lois Corbett; aunts & uncles, Beverly Pipkins (Ronald) Highsmith, Stanley (Angie) Corbett, John (Rebecca) Corbett, Ken (Kim) Corbett; cousins, Ryan, Breanna, Brooke Highsmith, Shelby, Jenna, Bo, Clay, Cody Corbett, Audrey Corbett, Justin (Brandi), Jessica, Jared Corbett; best friend, Cathy Herring all of Lake Park.

Services for Mandi Corbett will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2010 at Sardis Baptist Church in Echols County with Dr. Charlie Daniel, Rev. Mickey Corbett and Rev. Garvie Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the Mandi Corbett Memorial Fund at First State Bank and Trust Company.
