Mahlon Calhoun Matheny

Mahlon Calhoun Matheny, Jr., 64, of Lake Park, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from a recent illness at UF Shands. He was born on June 19, 1958, in Madison, Florida to the late Mahlon Matheny, Sr., and Lois Edna Whigham, and he grew up in Lee, Florida and attended Madison County Schools. At the age of 18, he married Wanda and went on to have three beautiful children. He had worked as a land surveyor with Poppell Land Surveyors, Folsom Surveying LLC, and with the Scruggs Company. Mahlon lived a full life and enjoyed many hobbies.

Mahlon is survived by his three children, Kalli Matheny of Dothan, Alabama, Brandon Matheny of Tallahassee, Florida, Kassi and Andy Lowery of Jennings, Florida; and five grandchildren, Owen Matheny, Bradley Matheny, Lexi Lowery, Laci Lowery, and Addison Laye. He also leaves behind his partner, Connie Baker of Lake Park.
