Maggie Hovan, 66, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on August 16, 1939 in Williamston, NC to the late Jasper and Maggie Pierce Williams. Mrs. Hovan was a retired clerk from Winn Dixie and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter and son in law, Nita and Fred Warner of Valdosta, two sons and daughters in law, Danny Silverthorne and Sue Muellman of Madison, WI and David and Addie Silverthorne of Virginia Beach, VA, seven grandchildren, Franklin Warner, Justin Silverthorne, John Silverthorne, Kate Silverthorne, Aaron Pineiro, Michael LaMay and Derick LaMay, one great grandson, Amrick Pineiro, two sisters and brothers in law, Dorothy and Russell Beach of Williamston, NC, Mary Lou and Eddie Smith of Edmonton, KY, two brothers and three sisters in law, Donnie and Phyllis Williams of Lakeland, GA, Buddy and Lily Williams of Williamston, NC and Mary Jo Williams of Washington, NC. Mrs. Hovan is preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Silverthorne and Charles Hovan, one son, Joseph Franklin Silverthorne and one brother, Bennie Walker Williams.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2006 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Schappaugh officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
