Maggie Marie Luke Dampier, 85, of Hahira died Tuesday, November 30 in Memorial Convalescent Center in Adel. She was born on May 22, 1919 in Berrien County to the late Walter B. and Ellie Nash Luke. Mrs. Dampier was a grocery store sales clerk and a member of the Hahira Church of God. She is preceded in death by her husband, A. J. Dampier, one son, James Dampier and one daughter, Qudine Dampier Mauk.
Mrs. Dampier is survived by four daughters and three sons in law, Marian and Reverend Leonard Harnage of Hahira, Erma Gene Walker of Dayton, OH, Evelyn and Robert E. Box of Jacksonville, FL and Brenda and Ricky Bailey of Cecil, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister in law, Claude and Peggy Luke and Hulon Luke of Valdosta, three sisters, Mildred Blanton of Nashville, Myrtice Ivey of Atlanta and Bernice Clinigan of Alabama.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, 2004 at two p. m. in the Martin McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Flowers officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Brooks County. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
