Mack Daniel Singletary, 67, of Valdosta, died on Monday, September 21, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Berrien County on December 18, 1941, he was the son of the late Oliver and Ola Benefield Singletary. He had made his home in Lowndes County for the past 50 years and was a member of the Azalea City Church of God.
Survivors are his wife, Geneva Hall Singletary, sons and daughters in law, Marty and Viola Singletary, Danny and Tara Singletary, Terry and Felecia Singletary, Mack Allen Singletary and Shelly Walls all of Valdosta; daughter and son in law, Charlotte and Dennis Brown of Five Points, Alabama; brother and sister in law, Charles and Kay Singletary of Valdosta; sisters and brothers in law, Jessie and Albert Garnto, Gail and Richard Palmer of Valdosta, Queenie and Lloyd Adams of Minnesota; 22 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lanford Singletary and a sister, Helen Rogers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Azalea City Church of God. Reverend Billy Hall, Reverend Raymond Gabbard and Reverend Bobby Tatum will officiate. Mr. Singletary will lie in state at the church from one p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
