Mabelle Feagle Mcleod Johnson

MABELLE FEAGLE McLEOD JOHNSON, 89, of Valdosta died Friday, August 4, 2006 at the Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on June 5, 1917 in Columbia County, Florida to the late Drew and Rosa Chastain Feagle and had lived in Lowndes County since 1937. Mrs. Johnson attended Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ since 1937 and had been employed with King Edward Cigar Factory and Dowling Bag Company. She loved young people, was a good wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother and cook.

Survivors include a daughter in law, Carol McLeod, her grandchildren, Leif McLeod, Lori (Guy) Carter, a special nephew who was like a son, Harold McLeod all of Valdosta, three sisters, Beatrice Counce and Geraldine Harp both of Ft. White, Fla, Edith Comstock of Jacksonville, Fla., a special friend, Richard Black of Valdosta, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Oscar McLeod and B. B. Johnson and a son, Fred McLeod.

Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Sunday, August 6, 2006 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. J. C. McMullen, Mr. Jere Via and Mr. James Colwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
