Mabel "Midge" Sharp

Mabel "Midge" Sharp, 80, of Valdosta went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on January 26, 1936 in Fairmont, West Virginia to the late Paul R. and Alice Clayton Gripper. Mrs. Sharp was a retired nurse and a private home health care provider. She was a charter member of Greenwood Baptist Church and currently a member of Westside Baptist Church. Mrs. Sharp enjoyed gardening and her flowers.
She is predeceased by her husband, Leonard Lee Sharp, her daughter, Anita May Alderman and her parents. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Gerald Lee and Jennifer Sharp of Spring Hill, Kansas, daughter, Vivian J. Tomlinson of Suwanee, GA, son and daughter in law, Randy and Pat Sharp of Valdosta and son in law, Eddie Alderman of Byron, GA, grandchildren, Jessica Kaitlyn Sharp, Shelby Lee Sharp, George Garrett Tomlinson (Laura), Mary Jeanette Tomlinson, Melissa Sharp, Chris Sharp (Donna), Madison Sharp, Austin Sharp, Tracy Alderman, Crista Perdue (Travis), Angie Eubanks (Clinton) and Josh Alderman and seventeen great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, January 15, 2017 at two p. m. at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. Burial will follow.
