Lynette Rogers Griffin Farran, 81, of Barefoot Bay, Florida and formerly of Valdosta, died May 23, 2011 at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida. She was born in Brooks County a daughter of the late Carlos B. and Fannie L. Hiers Rogers. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Valdosta State University. Mrs. Farran was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barefoot Bay and was a member of the Women of the Moose in Micco, Florida.
Survivors include her husband of 7 years, Donald Farran of Barefoot Bay, Florida; a son, Andy Griffin, daughters, Sharron Gandy and husband Bill, Annette Gray and husband Chuck all of Valdosta; a stepson, Dana Farran and wife Beverly of South Bend, Indiana; a brother, Jimmy Rogers and wife Nan of Saint Albans, WV; sisters, Sue Moxley and husband David of Lake Park, Charlotte Cloud of Lake Park and Betty Browning and husband Clamon of Lake Park; grandchildren, Ryan Gandy and wife Kara of Valdosta, Alden Gandy of Denver, Colorado, Brad Selph of Valdosta; a great-grandchild, Kaylee Selph of Valdosta. Mrs. Farran was preceded in death by her first husband, Woodrow Wilson "Leasey" Griffin, a brother, Billy Rogers and a sister, Willene Holcomb.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Wayne Robertson will officiate. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
