Lunita Cowart Crosby Simpson, 68, of Brooks County, died on Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at South Georgia Medical Center after a long illness. <br>Born on April 13, 1936, at Barretts, in Lowndes County she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred Cooper Cowart. A homemaker and widow of the late Jack Crosby she was a member of Welcome Hill Church of Christ. <br><br>Survivors are her son, Carey Crosby of Quitman and his Fiance` Dianne Holt of Valdosta; a daughter and son in law, Kim and Mike Burnham of Valdosta, grandchildren, Michael and Stephanie Burnham of Valdosta and Matthew Burnham of Valdosta; sisters and brothers in law, Anne and Cecil Via of Byron, Georgia, Nell and Clyde Curry of Green Springs Cove, Florida, Gloria Gester of Jacksonville, Florida, Susan and Jim Fielding of Valdosta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. <br><br> Services are scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with burial at Welcome Hill Cemetery. Mr. Jerry Herring, Reverend Bobby Frier and Mr. Bill Naylor are to officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 – 8 p.m. Carson McLane Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. <br><br><br>
