Lula Folsom Finney 88 of Lake Park died on Monday, November 20, 2006 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born on March 4, 1918 in Lowndes County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ivey and Uldean Husbands Brown and the widow of the late Ralph D. Finney. She worked as a telephone operator and a work assignment clerk for Southern Bell for over 30 years. She was of the Baptist faith. The family is especially thankful for all the people who cared for her this past year.
Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Sylvia Folsom of Lake Park, Bob and Alana Folsom of Valdosta; daughters, Dean McCullough of Statesboro, Mary Ann Strickland of Naylor, Barbara Jean Folsom of Valdosta; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry W. Brown and Ralph E. and Hilda Brown all of Valdosta; sisters and brother-in-law, Rachel and Lewis Russell, Virginia Turner all of Valdosta and Mary Brown of Littleton, CO and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Folsom Sr. and her brother, I. R. Brown, Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Skip Van Nus officiating.
