LUCY TANNER, 93, of Dawsonville and formerly of Valdosta died Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at the Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming after a short illness. She was born in Lowndes County on September 6, 1911 to the late James B. and Benita Tomlinson Fender. Mrs. Tanner was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Valdosta and had lived with her daughter in Dawsonville for the past three and a half years.

Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Libby T. and Fred Thomas, one granddaughter and grandson in law, Tanner Thomas Lindsey and Kevin Lindsey, one grandson, Reed Thomas all of Dawsonville, one sister, Libby Thomas of Valdosta, two nieces, Benita Hall of Valdosta and Penny Thomas of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reed Tanner.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Friday, January 7, 2004 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Jordan officiating.
