Lucy Stubbs Griffis, 93, of Hahira passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Fellowship Home. She was born in Hahira, GA on January 25, 1926 to the late Wiley Stubbs and Ethel Shiver Stubbs. Mrs. Griffis was a bookkeeper for Southland Tractor Company, a member of Hahira United Methodist Church, the Quilting Club and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She enjoyed her summers in the north Georgia mountains, camping and old country gospel music.
Mrs. Griffis is survived by three sons, Jimmy Griffis and lifelong friend, Lynette Copeland Shepherd of Lake Park, Gary and Brenda Griffis of Valdosta, Alan and Jackie Griffis of Lake Park, four grandchildren, Chris Griffis, Mindy Fletcher (Robert), Greg Griffis and Dylan Crawford Griffis, five great grandchildren, Colby Fletcher, Danielle Fletcher and Stephen Fletcher, Ceridwyn Griffis and Rowan Griffis, three step grandchildren, Bleau Crawford, Jennifer Crawford and Travis Crawford, three step great grandchildren, Summer Huffmaster, Brody Crawford and Brandon Dent. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Barney D. Griffis, Jr., daughter in law, Sandy Griffis, three siblings, Thomas (Doodle) Stubbs, Catherine Harper and Charles E. Stubbs, Sr.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at three p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from one thirty p. m. until three p. m. Saturday prior to the funeral service. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the caregivers at Fellowship Home and Bethany Hospice, especially caregiver, Keren Rountree.
