Lucile W. Garner

Lucile W. Garner, 87, of Valdosta, died Friday, April 30, 2010 at her residence. She was born on October 8, 1922 in Quitman to the late Roy Lee Wilson, Sr. and Vara Adams Wilson. Mrs. Garner was a bank teller at First Union Bank, was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and was a tremendous mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Rose and Tom Hutchinson of Valdosta, two grandsons and one granddaughter in law, Brian and Rhonda Walker of Hahira and Russell Walker of Quitman, three great grandchildren, Gage Walker, Kaira Walker and Grant Walker, one sister, Vara Lee Greene of Gray, GA, two brothers and one sister in law, Roy L., Jr. and Jeane Wilson and Odie B. Wilson of Valdosta, several nieces and nephews and special friends, Kathryn and Herb Mason and Volinda and Farrell Goulart of Valdosta. Mrs. Garner is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Garner, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 3, 2010 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Bussey officiating. A private burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman. The family will receive friends from ten a. m. until eleven a. m. Monday at the funeral home.
