Lt. Col Edgar James Lindenmeyer

Lt. Col. Edgar James Lindenmeyer, USAF (retired), 82, of Summerville, husband of Patricia (Griffin) Lindenmeyer, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Trident Medical Center.
Edgar was born on March 20, 1933 in Lake Forest, IL, son of the late Edgar William Lindenmeyer and Alice (Swanton) Lindenmeyer. He was a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Education and a graduate of Southern Illinois University where he received his Master's Degree in Education. Edgar entered the United States Air Force as a navigator in 1955. He served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the United States Air Force with 28 years of service as a Lt. Col. He received numerous awards throughout his military career. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife Patricia are: one daughter: Janet Clifton (Robert); four sons: John Lindenmeyer, Jeff Lindenmeyer, Jim Lindenmeyer (Tammy) and Steve Lindenmeyer (Marie); 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister: Barbara Farrow (Bob). He was predeceased by two sons, Mark Lindenmeyer and Doug Lindenmeyer.
Visitation for friends and family will be at Bethany United Methodist Church in The Parlor, on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 1 o'clock until hour of service. Funeral services will begin at 2 o'clock PM in Spell Chapel.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 118 W. 3rd S. Street, Summerville, SC 29483 or Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
