Louise Sorrell Lawson, 87, of Hahira died Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Fellowship Home. She was born in Colquitt County, Georgia on June 23, 1930 to the late Thomas W. and Mellie Cooper Sorrell and had lived in Hahira most of her life. Mrs. Lawson was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse with Smith Hospital for many years. She enjoyed doing woodworking with her husband, tending her flowers, sewing and glass collectibles. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Lynn Lawson Locher and Kenny Locher of Hahira, Vickie Lawson Hellemn and Danny Hellemn of Valdosta; her grandson, Eric Locher of Dunellon, FL, her great grandson, Bennett Locher of Hahira; two sisters and a brother in law, Dorothy Jordan of Hahira, Christine and Walter Denmark of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Lawson.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Thursday, October 19, 2017 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Boykin officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery.
