Louise Ashley Warner, 81, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at her daughter�s residence in Dasher. Born on January 17, 1930, in Fitzgerald, Georgia and had lived most of her life in Lowndes County. She was the daughter of the late Robert Harold Ashley and Gladys Grantham Ashley of Hahira. She was a graduate of Hahira High School and worked at Valdosta Drug Company, which became AmeriSource. for 35 years. After retiring, she worked for several years at Winn Dixie Pharmacy and Barnes Drug Store at Brookwood. She was a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Warner was a seamstress and made most of her daughters' clothes when they were children. She loved and cherished her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. One of her special joys were family gatherings. She loved baking and sharing her delicious pound cakes with friends and family. Her favorite times were cooking with Jennifer, her youngest granddaughter, on Friday nights. This Friday night tradition began over 30 years ago with her grandaughters, April, Stephanie, Leslie, and Erin.
Survivors are her three daughters, Belinda (Jerry) Grant, Valdosta; Shirley Davis, Valdosta; Kathy (Mike) Lightfoot, Niceville, Florida, grandchildren, April Lightfoot of Niceville, Florida, Leslie (Ike) Barton of Hahira, Stephanie (DJ) Bland of Niceville, Florida, Brad Davis of Jacksonville, Erin (Kurt) Peterson of Nashville, Tennessee, Jennifer Davis of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Emma and Madeline Barton, Devan and Laila Lightfoot, Liam Peterson; brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Betty Ashley of Adel, sister, Eleanor Warner of Valdosta; devoted friends: Dot Kent, Julia Padgett, Odessa Jordan, the late Faye Moor, her dog, Snicker, and members of her Morningside Baptist Church Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William "Leslie" Warner, parents, and two sisters, Ruby Lee Ashley and Nancy Ann Ashley.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Morningside Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
