Louelle Warren Barfield Carter

Louelle Warren Barfield Carter, 96, of Hahira, GA died peacefully at her granddaughter’s home in Hahira Saturday, January 23, 2021 surrounded by her children. She was born on August 22, 1924 in Cecil, Cook County, GA to the late C. D. (Dave) and Mae Presley Warren. Louelle was retired from Oberman’s/Levi after more than thirty years, starting as a seamstress and ending in quality control. She was a member of TOPS GA #190 for many years, always coming up with different charms to give to members for each weight loss they recorded. Along with the other members she enjoyed making handmade crafts to sell at the Hahira Honey Bee Festival. Louelle enjoyed participating in the many activities offered at the Senior Citizens Center when her health allowed her to attend. For twenty-six years, she and her sisters and brothers faithfully kept a promise to their mother to keep the family together by planning the annual Warren Reunion at New Friendship Church in Hahira. She was an inactive member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Her children are Cathy and Farney Harrison, Darlene and Darrell Kirkland, Norvelle Brewer (Buddy), Jr. and Deborah Barfield, grandchildren, Whit Vickers, Elizabeth Vickers, Tracy and Kyle Weitala, Suzanne and John Feazell, Chad and Christina Harrison, Kristi Sutton, Karrie and David Hollis, Kyle and Marjan Kirkland, Cody Barfield and Jordan Barfield, great grandchildren, Lauren and Will Vickers, Derieck and Trevor Daniels, Nicholas, John Mark, Sarah Grace, and Noah Harrison, Shane and Ashley Sutton, Daniel and David Kirkland, Savannah, Jackson, Jessie and Ella Blue Barfield, great great grandchildren, Tate, Rylee, John Luke, Autumn, Reid and Tyson Daniels, two sisters, Teretha Mixon and Hazel Harper, two brothers in law, George Gentry and Everett Roark, many nieces and nephews, two special friends, Mavis Watson and Richard Carter. Louelle is predeceased by her parents, her husband of forty-eight years, Norvelle B. Barfield, Sr., brothers, Samp Warren, Chesley Warren, C. D. (Junior) Warren, sisters, Ella Mae Bellflowers, Jean Gentry and Carolyn Roark, special lifelong friend, Velma Tyler and her second husband, William (Bill) Carter.
The family expresses their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Fellowship Home at Brookside, South Georgia Medical Center and Hospice of South Georgia.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at two p. m. at Bethany Cemetery with Reverend Dennis L. Massie, Minister of Pastoral Care, First Baptist Church of Valdosta. The family will visit following the graveside service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Friendship Cemetery, 8423 Vickers Circle, Hahira, GA 31632, Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602 or a charity of your choice.
