Louelle Reaves Mickler, loving wife to Silas Reaves for 43 years and Bill Mickler for 15 years before their deaths, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 13, 2008. Born Sarah Louelle Coppage to Jodie and Virginia Dare Coppage, in Cook County, Georgia, 1918, Louelle was one of eight children, who all preceded her in death. Her son, Jerry Reaves, her daughter-in-law, Elaine Hurst Reaves, her grandson, David Reaves, and her son-in-law Harold Sprenkle also preceded her in death.

Louelle is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law that she dearly loved from both the Coppage and Reaves families.

Louelle Reaves Mickler was proud to be a charter member of Gordon Street Baptist Church which became Morningside Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and his servant, her pastor, Reverend Wayne Robertson.
Louelle was called the Mother of Valdosta Wildcat Football because of the Reaves athletes who played. She came to love the Lowndes Vikings as well since three grandsons also played for the Vikings. Louelle credited sports participation, the Lord and the church as helping her raise her six children. She was one of the best Southern cooks in Lowndes County and shared her table with friends and strangers alike. Louelle worked long and hard for 25 years at Strickland Mills to raise and support her children when her husband was sick. She is called "Blessed" by her children. She will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who knew her and with her Lord Jesus Christ.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m on Friday, May 16, 2008, at Morningside Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery at Cecil. Visitation will be held at Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta on Thursday evening from 6 – 8. The family will accept flowers but encourages donations to the Valdosta Boys & Girls Club, 215 West North Street, Valdosta, GA 31601 and the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes, P.O.
