Lou Crecy Kinchen, 62, died following a short illness on Monday, August 13, 2007 at her residence in Dasher. She was born in Homerville on September 20, 1944 to the late Jimmie and Mary L. Crecy Howling. She was employed by Levi Strauss Company as a plotter and retired after 29 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by three sons, Steve Thomas, George Thomas, and Charlie Thomas all of Valdosta; one daughter; Patricia Westberry of Valdosta; grandsons, Tray and Shay Thomas, George, Jr. Thomas, Clay Thomas, Jonathan Hill all of Valdosta, Cammron Thomas of Hahira and John Robert Westberry, Jr. of Stockton; granddaughters, Heather Thomas, Erica Thomas, Jillian Thomas, Lindsey Thomas, and Kayla Stone all of Valdosta; great granddaughter, Emma Thomas of Valdosta; great grandsons, Ethan Grenat of Valdosta, Allen and John Westberry of Stockton. Ms. Kinchen is also survived by her brothers and sister-in-law, Elven and Shirley Howling of Adel and Jimmie Lee Howling also of Florida; sisters and brother-in-law, Sara Jane Beverley of Homerville, Nettie L. and Billy Carter of Echols county and Annie R. Roberts of Valdosta. She is preceded in death by her brother Timothy Howling and sisters, Zelphia Beckham and Mary Lou Howling.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Henry Cannington officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted as well as donations to Corinth Baptist Church.
