Lou Allen "Gatorman" Blanton

Lou Allen “Gatorman” Blanton, 69, of Lake Park, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at his home. He was born on April 8, 1951 in Valdosta to the late Lou Allen Blanton, Sr. and Mildred Luke Blanton. Gatorman was a conductor for the Norfolk Southern Railroad up until his retirement in 2001. He was a man of God who always put the Lord first and attended Enoch Creek Church. He loved his children and grandchildren and was very proud to have a son serving in the United States Army and a grandson serving in the United States Marine Corps. Gatorman loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing.

Lou Allen is survived by his wife, Carolyn Futch Blanton, of Lake Park; children, Dana Blanton, of Hahira, Leighann Watley (Jamie), of Valdosta, Felisha Spells (Eric) of Fitzgerald, Luke Blanton, of Lake Park, Matthew & Alyssa Blanton, of Texas; eight grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Buchanan and Shara Ann Haire, both of Valdosta.

Funeral services for Lou Allen Blanton will be Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Enoch Creek Church with Pastor Zach Corbett and Pastor Stanley Luke officiating. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home Monday, May 11, 2020 from 5 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Association.
