LORRAINE A. "Linda" WILLIAMS, 65, of Clyattville, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009, at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born August 7, 1944 in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mary M. Peters Williams. In 1986 Lorraine moved to this area, and had been employed at the Institute for Family Centered Services in Moultrie for five years, and as a Surgical Tech at South Georgia Medical Center. In 2006 she earned her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University, and was employed as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia.
Lorraine had volunteered at SGMC and at the Haven. She was a member of the Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
She is survived by three children, Sheri Johnson and her husband James of Fort Pierce, FL, Paul Lavoie and his wife Tammy of Manchester, NH, and Coryna Mooney and Tommy Redding of Valdosta; eight grandchildren, Mandy Spell and her husband Mark of Valdosta, Candice Lavoie, Nicole Lavoie, Ashley Lavoie, Jasmine Lavoie, Paul Lavoie, Jr., Mackenzie Lavoie, all of MA, and Joshua Bryant and Mason Mooney of Valdosta; four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Lorraine at 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Fr. Tim Blanton officiating.
