Lorna Lee Chitty

Mrs. Lorna Lee Chitty, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at her residence. Born in Washington DC, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Grace N. Steele. Mrs. Chitty was an avid Bridge player and great cook. She was a volunteer for the Break Bread Together program and a member and past treasurer of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are her husband, Steve A. Chitty, III of Valdosta; daughter, Lorna Kern Price and her husband, Stan of Newnan; sons and their wives, Jacob Gwinn Chitty and Caryn of Albany, Stephen A. Chitty, IV and Kimberly of St. Simons Island; six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Don Stanley officiating. Entombment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia or the Break Bread Together program at First Presbyterian Church.
