Lois Virginia Lawson

Lois Virginia Lawson, 79, of Valdosta, died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at her daughter's residence in Kissimmee, FL. She was born on February 23, 1930 in Berrien County, GA to the late Sam and Fannie Belle Hancock Young. Mrs. Lawson was a retired seamstress from Strickland Cotton Mills and was a member of the Nazarene Church of Valdosta.

She is survived by ten children and their spouses, Diane and Mike Morrison of Revere, MO, Travis and Irene Taylor of Virginia Beach, VA, Elaine Stone of Nashville, GA, Sandra and David Coody of Valdosta, Vernon Lawson of Valdosta, Nancy and Ken Smith of Orlando, FL, Wanda Johnson of Quitman, Lisa Calbert of Atlanta, Darlene and Greg Reeder of Kissimmee, FL and Sonya and Wayne Watson of Lakeland, GA, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters in law, James and Shirley Young of Ludowici, GA, Jimmy and Ina Young of Jacksonville, FL and Bobby Young of Murfreesboro, TN, three sisters and one brother in law, Ruth Gaskins of Quitman, Reba Mitchell of Everett, WA, Geneva and Leon Carr of Douglasville, GA. Mrs. Lawson is preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons, Ricky Miley and David L. (Bubba) Coody, Jr. and two sisters, Eula Schultz and Faith Easters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 27, 2009 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend James Young officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Berrien County, GA. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
