Lloyd J. Wheeler, 90, of Lake Park, died on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born in Arcadia, Florida on July 23, 1929 to the late Lloyd C. Wheeler and Irene Bars Collins. Mr. Wheeler was a retired machinist with ITT metal products where he worked for over thirty years. He loved to hunt, fish, and farm and enjoyed being outside in God’s creation. Mr. Wheeler was a member of Abundant Life Church of God.
He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and John Ramay of Hazlehurst, Tammy and Danny Howell of Macon, and Candy and David Davis of Tallahassee, Florida; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Andy and Shemane Ramay of Hazlehurst, LeeAnne and Brian Lightsey of Lake Park, Veston Ramay of Hazlehurst, Leah and Jon Mendez of Macon, Lauren Howell of Macon and Danny Howell, Jr., also of Macon, Sarah Davis of Tallahassee, and Missy Fox of Lake Park; great-grandchildren, Trey Ramay, Tanner Ramay, Eli Hall, Cohen Hall, Haylee Lightsey, Aubree Lightsey, Ayden Mendez, and Luke Defend; a brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Shirley Wheeler of Punta Gorda, Florida, and his sister, Vivian Palmer of Lake Park; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Luverne Culpepper Wheeler.
Services for Lloyd J. Wheeler will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating. The burial will follow in the Kinsey Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
