Lisa Dorminey Mallow, 56, of Valdosta died Monday, February 24, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Adel on August 7, 1963 to Margie Guthrie Dorminey and the late William G. Dorminey. Mrs. Mallow was a teacher with Horizon Academy-Valdosta Site and served as the Garden Club Coordinator at Horizon Academy. Lisa’s love for children was the reason she became a teacher. She is a member of Redland Baptist Church, an avid reader and gardner.
Survivors include her husband, Kevin Mallow of Valdosta; her mother, Margie Dorminey of Adel, her sister, Leslie Swords of Thomasville; two nieces, Elizabeth Swords and Rachel Swords both of Thomasville; her great nieces, Ava Cody, Riley Cody both of Thomasville; great nephew, Bentley Vaughn of Cairo, GA; her uncle and aunt, Walter C. and Mary Nell Guthrie of Niceville, FL; parents in law, Dorsey and Janet Mallow of Valdosta; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; sister in law and brother in law, Tracy and Randy Peters of Valdosta; brother in law, Kent Mallow of Tallahassee, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Redland Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Redland Cemetery.
