Lionel Lafoye Pipkin

Lionel LaFoye Pipkin, 71, of Valdosta passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at his home. He was born in 1935 in Tifton to the late Oscar and Evelyn Evers Pipkin and had lived in Valdosta since January of 1973. Mr. Pipkin retired in 1998 from Marketing Specialist. He was a member of the Forrest Street Church of God and his main goal in life was living for the Lord.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Marlene Cauthen Pipkin of Valdosta, two sons and daughters in law, Greg and Diana Pipkin of Valdosta, Wendell and Donna Pipkin of Thomasville, grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Shannon Pipkin, Mark and Sydney Pipkin, Tony Pipkin, Amber Pipkin, Jenny P. and Chris Holt, Charlotte P. and Jerry Butler, Kris Johnson, Kasey Johnson, one great granddaughter, Kylie Holt, brother and sister in law, Donald and Helen Pipkin of Columbus, Indiana, sisters in law and brothers in law, Daphne Brewer of Tifton, Chris Cauthen of Montgomery, Ala., Arthur and Ruth Cauthen, Bob and Audrey Cauthen all of Tifton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Maggie Evers and Sam and Candace Pipkin.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Friday, May 11, 2007 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Hughes, Rev. Raymond Gabbard and Rev. Joe Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton located at Exit 61 on I-75. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
