Linda Lee Davis, 76, of Valdosta, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 following a lengthy illness. Linda was born in Norman Park, GA on February 4, 1942, to the late Walt and Mary Montgomery Spires. Linda was a nutritionist and who enjoyed serving others at her job at Fellowship Home. She attended the Rock Church of Valdosta. Linda was a wonderful caregiver who loved to cook for her family and others. Linda enjoyed travelling to the mountains and collecting rooster knick-knacks.
Linda is survived by her husband Walter Raymond Davis, of Valdosta, her three daughters Sharon N. Smith, of Valdosta, Sue Foust (Tom) of Madison, FL, and Judy Messer (Mike) of Quitman, her nine grandchildren, Casey Smith, Christina Swain, David Charles, Gini Conley, Kristen Wilcox, Gretchen Shealey, Jessica Donaldson, Jordon McKinnon, and Dallas Messer, her nine great grandchildren, her sister Sarah Cromwell, and her half-brother, J.W. Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Carey Spires.
The funeral service for Mrs. Davis will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Starling officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Brooks County. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
