Linda Jones Nesbitt, 70, of Morven, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Lowndes County on October 3, 1949 to the late Robert and Ola Norris Jones and has been a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Nesbitt loved her family and was known as a person who strived to see the best in others and put others needs before her own. She was affectionately known as “Mom” to many, and was passionate about hummingbirds, coloring, and her cats. She had attended the Quitman Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Ann and Bill Raupach of Greeneville, Tennessee; three step-daughters and their spouses, Kathy Nesbitt of Valdosta, Debbie Jean and Sean Sthalnaker of Little Rock, Arkansas, Deborah and J.W. Brown of Hahira; two step-sons, Matt Nesbitt of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Bill Kachline of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Shea Shoemaker, William Raupach, Sierra Raupach, Cheyenne Callich, Ian Gage Stailey, Cayden Nesbitt, Brodie Nesbitt, Olivia Burleigh, Owen Dougherty, and others; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Margaret and Kenneth Delk of Quitman, Katherine Fender of Douglas, and Ann Davidson of Clarksville, Tennessee; a close family friend, Eric Stoen; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Nesbitt, Jr.; her daughter, Kristie Stailey; nephew, Leighton Thomas Delk; brothers-in-law, Robert Fender and Jimmy Davidson.
A graveside service for Linda Nesbitt will take place on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman.
