LILLIE (MRS. LILLIE) SANDLIN, 77, of Lake Park died suddenly after a period of declining health on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at her home. She was born on January 7, 1931 in Pendleton, South Carolina and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Sandlin was a very devout Christian and member of the Lake Park Church of God and a former member of the Lake Park Christian Church where she taught Sunday School. She was an Avon representative for twenty five years and operated the Lake Park Christian Thrift Shop for ten years. She loved to cook for her family, friends and neighbors and loved to serve the Lord and others thorough her hospitality.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Talmadge Sandlin, two sons and daughters in law, George and Patricia Sandlin, Keith and Jena Sandlin all of Lake Park, her grandchildren, Lisa Taylor of Barney, Danny (Amanda) Sandlin of Lake Park, Cole Sandlin of Echols County and Joseph Sandlin of Lake Park, great grandchildren, Abigail Sandlin of Lake Park, Brooklyn Reece of Barney, Landin Sandlin and Owen Sandlin both of Lake Park, her sister, Wilma Carter of Lake Park, brother and sister in law, Joe and Martha Gilliam of Jennings, Fla., numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Sandlin, three brothers, Hoyt Gilliam, Paul Gilliam and Louis Gilliam and four sisters, Jewell Whitfield, Dora Whitfield, Frances Brown and Dorothy Coker.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Friday, February 8, 2008 at the Lake Park Church of God with Rev. Mickey Corbett and her son, Dr. W. Keith Sandlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the Lake Park Church of God.
