Lillie Mae Dees

Lillie Mae Dees, 98, of Clyattville died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born on March 21, 1916 in Lowndes County to the late Levi and Arrie Lightsey Hutchinson. Mrs. Dees was a member of Airport Church of Christ and was a retired manager of the Lowndes High School lunchroom. She was inducted into the GA School Food Service Hall of Fame. Mrs. Dees was known for her cooking especially her cakes and pies. She enjoyed and could often be seen working in her yard and working with her beautiful flowers. Mrs. Dees enjoyed crocheting and giving what she had made to her friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Glen Farmer, her son and daughter in law, Raymond and Betty Dees, all of Valdosta, five grandchildren, Cindy Jones (Roger), Judson Dees (Mia), Kevin Farmer (Emily), Kristy Anderson (Jayson) and Tish Dees Baker (Mark), eight great grandchildren, Kayla Bates (Daniel), Kameron Farmer, Jordan Farmer, Holland Farmer, Drew Anderson, Landon Jones, Zach Jones and Devlin Lilith Dees, her great great grandson, Brentley Bates. Mrs. Dees was predeceased by her husband of fifty six years, Harris M. Dees on August 26, 1994. She is also predeceased by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Bryan Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
