Lillie Fowler Smith Glisson

Lillie Fowler Smith Glisson, 81, of Quitman, died on Wednesday, May 09, 2007, at Lake Haven Nursing Home in Valdosta after a lengthy illness. She was born on October 6, 1925 in Wedowee, Alabama to the late William & Lina Fowler. Later in 1961 she moved to Valdosta, Georgia. While in Valdosta she worked with Harvey’s Supermarket for 30 plus years. She enjoyed working and serving people in the community.

She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Linda and Jake Tillman of Quitman, GA; son and daughter-in-law, David & Christy Smith of Columbia, SC, daughter in-law Joan Smith of Florence, SC, son in-law Earl Schneider of Henderson, TX, daughter and son in-law Janet and Ricky Fender of Jacksonville, FL. From that family she has enjoyed the lives of her 10 grandchildren, Tina, Teri, Tim, Craig, DJ, Mandy, Steven, Jeff, Jody, Travis and 16 great grandchildren, Jamerson, Jordan, Harrison, Noah, TJ, Ansley, Logan, Margaret, Amber, Emily, Jamie, Katelyn, Missy, Nicki, Nicole, Lindsey. Preceded in death by husbands Douglas Smith and Mervin Glisson, son Alan Smith, daughter Deborah Schneider, grandson Jay Smith, brothers Shelton Fowler, Roy Fowler, Benham Fowler, William Fowler, Jr, sisters May Ricks, Murill Swilley, Audrey Tomlinson, Clara Wester. She is the last of William & Lina Fowler’s children.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2007 in the Mausoleum Chapel at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Reverend John Page officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
