Lillian D. Rowan, 87, of Lake Park, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Morven on June 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late N.A. and Pearlie Hightower Thomas. Mrs. Rowan was a member of Francis Lake Baptist Church. She operated Bearly Sick Daycare for South Georgia Medical Center and she and her husband owned and operated Rowan Frozen Foods. Mrs. Rowan drove a school bus, loved the Braves and bowling. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for family and friends.
Survivors are her daughters, Patricia Yeomans of Valdosta, Donna Connell of Savannah, Teresa R. Johnson of Lake Park and Pam Wise of Lake Park; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clarence Rowan, a son, William Deryll Rowan; and four sisters, Clyde Fleming, Doris Hall, Pearl Devane and Louise Hartley.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cat Creek Cemetery.
