LESTER FRANK CANADY, 75, of Valdosta died Friday, February 1, 2008 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville after a lengthy illness. He was born in Colquitt County to the late Robert L. and Mattie Bell Harrell Canady and had lived in Valdosta for twenty nine years. Mr. Canady was retired from the United States Coast Guard and a member of the Westside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Robinson Canady of Valdosta, two sons and daughters in law, Andy and Patricia Canady of Jacksonville, Fla., Art and Charlene Canady of Snellville, GA., one daughter and son in law, Andrea and Joey Adams of Adel, five grandchildren, Joshua Adams, Kristen Adams, Jason Canady, Leslie Mahon and Brianna Canady, seven great grandchildren, Chloe, Kaylee, Riley, Taylor, Ashland, Cody and Jessica, two sisters, Oneta Purvis of Jackson, Ga and Grace Dickens of Omega, Ga. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Canady.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Ernie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Buck Creek Cemetery in Colquitt County. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
