Lessie Watley Tomlinson, 92, of Lake Park, died on Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Langdale Hospice House. Born in Madison, Florida, July 25, 1925, she was a daughter of the late John and Julia Godwin Watley. A Master Seamstress and homemaker, Mrs. Tomlinson was a gentle and kindhearted person. She found much joy in caring for her family.
Survivors are her husband of 75 years, Elwood Tomlinson; daughters and sons in law, Shirley and Ronnie Nelson of Baxley, Shelby and Wayne Wisenbaker of Valdosta, Vickie and Duane Bryan of Naples, Florida, Phyllis Tustin of Lake Park, Debbie and Pete Fender of Valdosta; 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Leona Anderson, Otha Courson and brothers, Leroy (Buddy) Watley, O.F. (Todd) Watley, grandchildren, Donna Gore and two infant grandsons.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tomlinson will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Jim Smith and Elder Thad Marshall will officiate. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
