Leroy J. Salmela, 84, of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Fellowship Home. He was born in Sebeka, MN, on April 18, 1934 to the late Clifford and Saima Simi Salmela. He was raised in Menahga, MN and was retired from the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam. Leroy was the owner of Leroy’s Home Improvement and could fix anything. He restored antique clocks and was always on the go.
He is survived by his wife Monika Salmela of Madison, FL; his daughter and son in law Sheree and Mark Anderson of Minnesota; his son Jimmy Salmela of Hahira; his daughter Dana Salmela of Valdosta; his grandson Dustin Boggs of Dasher; his sister Shirley Harvela of Menahga, MN; and his brothers Loyel Salmela of Menahga, MN and Donnie Salmela of Minneapolis, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother and a sister.
