Leota Sistrunk Culpepper, 89, of Valdosta went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Suwanee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper, FL. She was born on August 13, 1927 in Echols County, GA to the late Walter Reppard Henderson and Mary Levins Henderson. Mrs. Culpepper was a nurses assistant with Dr. Albert Saunders, a member of Abundant Life Church of God and worked at Precious Treasures Daycare.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Kathy and Doug Reese of Valdosta, her son and daughter in law, Duane and Sue Sistrunk of Valdosta, her grandchildren, Pam Reaves (Tim) of Hahira, Tim Sutton (Sherry) of Lawrenceville, Casey Washinski (Jeff) of Marietta, Brandy Crumley (Buck) of Valdosta, Marsha Perry (Stanley) of Thomson, Tammy Herring (Barry) of Thomson, Cynthia, Stephen and Christa, great grandchildren, Heather Grenat (Steve), Clay Thomas (Lauren), Dylan Sutton, Danielle Sutton, Chris Crumley, Taylor Evans, Jessica Rabun, Amber Poss, Ashley Reaves and Michael Reaves, great great grandchildren, Ethan Grenat, Aniela Grenat, Lauralynn Thomas, Trent Thomas and Jason Rabun, several special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Culpepper is preceded in death by her husbands, Claude Sistrunk and Jesse Culpepper, daughter, Linda Sue and twelve siblings.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Raymond Gabbard and Dr. Wayne Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Suwanee Valley Nursing Center's building fund, 427 15th Ave. NW, Jasper, FL 32052. The family extends a special thank you to Suwannee Valley Nursing Center and Staff for their kind and compassionate care.
