Leonard (Nard) Bradley Gane, a retired member of the United States Air Force, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was 83 years old. Born on June 4, 1940, in Auburn, NY, to the late Leonard William Gane and Inez Carroll Gane, he spent much of his life serving his country before transitioning to Civil Service in Transit Maintenance at Moody Air Force base.
As an avid fisherman, Leonard started Bass Master’s at Moody Air Force Base, and he also had a deep passion for antique cars. He was a proud member of the Methodist church and will be missed by his family and friends.
Leonard is survived by his son, John Bradley (Brad) Gane and daughter-in-law Julie Anne Gane of Valdosta, and grandchild, True Anne Gane, of Savannah. He is also survived by his nieces, Andrea Dente-Nation and Kimberly Dente-Bailey, of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Terese Hoffman Watson, nephew Michael Hoffman, and his brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Carol Hoffman of Greenville, South Carolina. Leonard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Jean Rankin Gane, his parents, and his sister, Almera Gane Dente.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023, at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
