Leo E. Weaver, 80, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at his home after a lengthy illness. Born in Berrien County, on February 5, 1926, he was the son of the late Isaac Leo and Lillie Estelle Carter Weaver. Mr. Weaver was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post 1777, a Past Commander of the American Legion Post 13 and member of the 40 & 8. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge and a member of Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church in Berrien County. Mr. Weaver owned and operated Leo’s T.V. and Appliance for many years.
Survivors are his wife, Louese Weaver of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Evelyn Weaver of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Brenda and Bill McCurdy of Lake Park, four grandchildren, Kristy and Scott McIntosh of Valdosta, Brandi and Jesse Warren of Gainesville, Florida, Blake McCurdy and Danielle McCurdy of Lake Park; three great grandchildren, Morgan McIntosh, Luke McIntosh, Tyler McIntosh of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews, and 3 special friends, Lamar (Bat) Crozier, Bill Jones and Andy Rumker. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ina Brown, Irma Parrish and Vera Sirmans.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Thad Marshall will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Cemetery. Mr. Weaver will lie in state at the church from 10:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church or to Hospice of South Georgia.
