Lenora Ann Suggs Wilson

Lenora Ann Suggs Wilson, 77, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Holly Hill Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Moultrie, Georgia on November 10, 1937 to the late Alvin Suggs and Nell Humphreys Suggs Copeland and has lived in this area her whole life. She was known for her generosity and caring heart by putting others first and helping when there was a need. She enjoyed the simple things of life and found great pleasure in fishing, cooking, doing for others and of course her grandchildren who were the lights of her life. Mrs. Wilson was a retired beautician and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Park.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Billy Danforth and Suzanne and Thomas Coker all of Valdosta, Kim and Bobby Walther of Lake Park; a son, Scotty Wilson of Lake Park; grandchildren and their spouses, Anthony Pilkinton, Alan Pilkinton, Eric Pilkinton, Bert Dowling all of Lake Park, Garrett Dowling of Valdosta, Kenny Jr., and Lauren Brady of Covington, Louisiana, Ray Brady of Lake park, Rae Danforth Wilkes and Shawn Wilkes of Valdosta, and Austin Wilson of Orlando, Florida; six great-grandchildren; the father of her children, Raymond Wilson, Sr.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Carolyn Linder of Tennessee and Cherry and Everett Goff of Florida. She was preceded in death by a husband, Obin Smith; two children, Sheree Smith Blanchard and Raymond Ellis Wilson, Jr., and a sister, Gloria Jean Jackson.

Services for Lenora Ann Suggs Wilson will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton Allen officiating. The burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
