Lela B. Valdellon, 89, of Valdosta, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016, at South Georgia Medical Center.
She was born July 23, 1926, in Frametown, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude Parsons Hefner. Mrs. Valdellon was a devout Catholic and member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She loved gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Pedro (Pete) Valdellon of Valdosta; and two nephews, Tommy Hefner and his wife Mary, and Alan Hefner; and two nieces, Lora Jordan and Pamela Johnson, all of Charleston, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hefner; and a niece, Martha Hefner.
The Funeral Mass for Mrs. Valdellon will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with Rev. Brian LaBurt officiating. Interment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2016, at the Carson McLane Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. John's Building Fund, 800 Gornto Road, Valdosta, GA 31602.
