Leila Bussey Sale, 90, of Valdosta died Friday, June 10, 2016 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Lowndes County on March 22, 1926 to the late Lee Roy and Laura Belle Herring Bussey and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mrs. Sale was a member of the Benevolence Baptist Church. She was a retired bookkeeper with Strickland Cotton Mills and Irby's Flower Shop.
Survivors include her son, Gordon Leslie Sale, Jr. of Valdosta, her grandson and granddaughter in law, Gordon Lee and Melissa Sale of Port Richey, FL; her granddaughter, Leslie Cheree Sale of Danville, KY; two great granddaughters, Madelyn Avery Sale and Mackenzie Lee Sale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Leslie Sale, Sr. and her brother, Vasco Darrell Bussey.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. David Paulk officiating. Burial will follow in the Benevolence Cemetery.
