Lawrence "Larry" Baggett, Jr.

Lawrence "Larry" Baggett, Jr., 61, of Valdosta died on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at his home. Born in Valdosta on October 7, 1952 he was the son of Mary Olleta Templeton Baggett and the late Lawrence L. Baggett, Sr. Mr. Baggett was a graduate of the Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia and was an alumni of the Citadel. He served in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of E5. He worked as a Real Estate developer and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his mother, Olleta Templeton Baggett of Valdosta; nephew, Tyler Baggett of Gainesville, Florida, niece, Victoria Baggett of Gainesville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. C. O. Templeton, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Baggett, and brother, Dr. Bart Baggett.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Reverend Bob Moon and Pastor C. Michael Chastian, Sr. will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, The Pearlman Cancer Center or Hospice of South Georgia.
