Lavonne Orenstein

Lavonne Orenstein, 75, of Valdosta died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on December 5, 1940 in Hollywood, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Carl Manley Dowdy and the late Lena Oliver Dowdy Barnhill and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Orenstein was the owner of Jac's Lanes and enjoyed playing golf. She also enjoyed painting, working crossword puzzles and working with the Humane Society.
Survivors include her son, Michael Isaac Orenstein; her daughter, Michele Orenstein Daugherty; her grandson, Brett Edward Daugherty and his fiancé, Leah Williams; two great grandchildren, Casey Nathaniel Cobb and Joely Michele Daugherty; her sister, Carlene E. Candreia all of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Edward Orenstein and her brother, Robert E. Dowdy.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating.
