Lavon "Buck" Church, 63, of Statenville died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Church was born on January 26, 1948 in Statenville where he was a lifelong resident and a member of the Statenville Church of God. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle Church, three sons and daughters in law, Mitchell and Renee Church, Kurt and Kristi Church, Carlton and Denise Church all of Statenville, daughter and son in law, Bylinda and Chris McCain of Cordele, 10-grandchildren, Tyler Church, Taylor Church, Trace Church, Kassi Church, Kole Church, Alissa Church, Hannah Church, Zoey Church, Shea McCain and Ty McCain, great grandchild, Zane Church, brother and sister in law, Howard and Mary Young of Jasper, Fla, sister and brother in law, Mary Nell and Alvin Register of Statenville, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Idell DeLoach Hughes and Bud Hughes, a sister, Ellen Goff.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Statenville Church of God with Rev. Jaime Register officiating. Burial will follow in the Statenville Cemetery.
