Laurel Gail Carter Thomas

Laurel Gail Carter Thomas, 66, of Valdosta passed from this life on Saturday, December 5, 2015. She was the proud daughter of the late Lawrence L. and Frances Carter. Laurel was born in Hahira on March 23, 1949. She was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor and was a member of Crosspointe Church.
Laurel is survived by her husband, Eddie "Buck" Thomas of Valdosta, two daughters and sons in law, Leslie McDonald Johnson (Ben) of Evansville, IN and Lindsey McDonald Mendoza (Mark) of Eden Prairie, MN, two sons and daughter in law, Glen McDonald (Kelli) and John Skye Thomas of Valdosta, grandchildren, Dani Taylor, Caleb Adkins, Olivia, Emma and Jackson McDonald, Aiden and Seth Mendoza, Bentley and Kinley Thomas, great granddaughter, Isabelle Taylor, brother, Lawrence "Larry" Carter of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, sister, Sherry Buffaloe of Columbia, TN, nephews, Michael Buffaloe (April) of Hahira and Matthew Buffaloe of Columbia, TN, extended family, Norma Jean Blanton, Margaret Demps and Tasha Williams and a host of other friends and family. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Leigh McDonald and her parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 11, 2015 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Dan Holley and Dr. Stanley Luke officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
