Laura Gaye Parramore Blanton

Laura Gaye Blanton, 62, of Valdosta, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at her home.

She was born September 19, 1950 in Valdosta, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Jacqueline Chauncey Parramore. Gaye was a member of Westside Baptist Church and enjoyed decorating her home, cooking and working outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Blanton of Valdosta; three daughters and two son-in-laws, Dana Griffin Moser and Butch of Valdosta, Stephanie Griffin Robinson and Dustin of Valdosta, and Brooke Blanton Wright of Hahira; three grandchildren, Michelle Moser, Riley Wright and Cole Robinson; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan McCranie Turner and Jim of Powder Springs; and a nephew, Ben McCranie and his son Davis, both of Valdosta.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Blanton will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Dr. Ernie Jones and Rev. John Akers officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
