Larry Joseph Kelly, 69, of Hahira, passed away at South Georgia Medical Center on Monday, January 1, 2018. He was born in Waterbury, CT on December 9, 1948 to the late George Joseph and Grace Gloria Raspo Kelly. He was of the Catholic faith. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs and was a season ticket holder. He had a great sense of humor and loved to garden and spend time with his grandchildren. He was a former member of South Georgia Classic Car Club.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judith Smith Kelly, of Hahira, his daughter Erin (Jason) Gaskins, of Hahira, his granddaughters, Emma and Eslea, his brother Gene (Paulette) Kelly of Waterbury, CT, and one sister, and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alan (Mary) Smith, Billy (Lynn) Smith, his mother-in-law, Margaret Smith, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law William Dickson Smith.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association, or Down Syndrome Association of South Georgia, c/o Guardian Bank, Valdosta, GA.
